Chef Papi Kitchens Celebrates Día de los Muertos with Festive Event
Día de los Muertos is a special holiday celebrated across Latin America but especially in Mexico where family and friends celebrate the memories of loved ones that have passed away.
To support our Latino communities in celebrating this important holiday, Ron Viejo de Caldas and Aguardiente Cristal put together a Día de los Muertos event at Chef Papi Kitchens powered by Luxor hosted by Chef Papi himself and Mixx.By.Ed.
The event featured the internationally recognized Mariachi Real de Mexico who played the public’s favorite classics throughout the night. Urban Latino’s very own Zeitlin Perez even jumped on a song with them and sang a beautiful rendition of Selena’s “No Me Queda Más”. The music set the mood for all of the guests to enjoy a menu catered by the increasingly popular Chef Papi and his guest for the evening, Chef Angie who made authentic Mexican tacos with homemade tortillas, the perfect dish to commemorate the night!
Let’s not forget the incredible drink menu created by mixologist, Mixx.By.Ed. The drinks were tasty and beautiful! We have Ron Viejo de Caldas and Aguardiente Cristal to thank for lending their exquisite tasting liquors to Mixx.By.Ed so that everyone can celebrate Día de los Muertos toasting to their loved ones with their favorite drinks off of the menu.
You couldn’t be there without feeling the love and warmth of the festivities. Apryl Cadabra was the makeup artist on site for those who wanted to honor Día de los Muertos by having sugar skull makeup done. Sugar skull makeup is a meaningful tradition when it comes to the holiday, it’s a ritualistic way that many choose to take part in to remember their beloved family and friends.
It was great to see everyone from guests to the chefs having a great time and enjoying the company of family and friends while observing Día de los Muertos. Hollywood actor Kareem Savinon who is featured in HBO’s hit series Girls visited Chef Papi Kitchens and enjoyed his time saying that the cuisine is one of the best in the area.
Ron Viejo de Caldas and Aguardiente Cristal are incredibly happy to have taken part in making this event memorable for all who attended. For them, it’s a pleasure to support and celebrate with our Mexican and Latino communities in any way that they can but especially when it comes to the sacred holiday that is Día de los Muertos.
