Frankie J talks about NEW album “Canciones Que Recuerdo” which pays Tribute to Selena, José José, Vincente Fernandez

by Natasha Melina

This summer, although, in quarantine, has brought us nothing but great music, and adding to that list is Frankie J with his latest album “Canciones Que Recuerdo” which was released on May 15th.

The album comprises 15 biggest hits of various artists such as José José, Selena, Pedro Infante, Juan Gabriel, amongst others. Putting his own take on these classics, we hear Frankie in a way we’ve never heard him before, singing baladas y rancheras. One of the great things about this album is how nostalgic it gets you, as Frankie told us “it will take you back to the place where you first heard the song”.

While I had the chance to sit down and talk about the album with Frankie, he serenaded us with a bit of “Y Cómo Es El” and “El Rey” which you can hear off the new album. Hearing him sing acapella is sure to melt all your hearts so brace yourselves!

Frankie J also extended an invitation to his very first virtual concert which will be streaming on the Sessions Live App this Friday (July 31st). You’re not going to want to miss this so don’t forget to purchase your ticket at the link below!
