by Natasha Melina

Univision’s annual award show highlighting new generations of young talents, Premios Juventud, took place last night in Hollywood, Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel which was filled with all of your artistas favoritos.

Amongst those in attendance were Anuel, Farruko, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, Kany Garcia, Natti Natasha, Sebastian Yatra, and many more.

Some of those who had the honor of taking the stage with their music was Ozuna, Karol G, Llane, Mau y Ricky, Farruko, Cali y El Dandee, Sebastian Yatra, Manuel Turizo, and Neto Bernal to name a few!

With so many incredible artists, it was a given that we were going to be blessed with some incredible performances!

Let’s go over some of the most iconic performances of the night:

Selena Tribute Performance

Some of Latin music’s most talented women took the stage to pay tribute to Selena Quintanilla on the 25 year anniversary of her passing. Honoring her was Natti Natasha, Ally Brooke, Greeicy, y Danna Paola all wearing gorgeous white ensembles. Presentando this heartfelt tribute was none other than Karol G and then the performance started with a video of Selena cantando “Como la Flor” before Danna Paola took the stage to continue the song with her stunning choreography. Natti Natasha picked things up with “La Carcacha” and a group of dancers wearing Selena inspired outfits. Next up was Greeicy who sang “Baila Esta Cumbia” and then the lovely ladies joined together on stage to finish off with “Fotos y Recuerdos.” The performance could not have been any better as it was produced by Selena’s brother, AB Quintanilla Jr who was honored with the Premios Juventud for “Legado Musical 2020”.

Artist of the moment, Rauw Alejandro spent a lot of time on stage last night at Premios Juventud which we’re definitely not complaining about! First, he found himself performing “One World, One Prayer” con tremendo equipo including Camilo at the beginning of the show and later on we caught up with them again when Rauw and Camilo performed “Tattoo” which has been one of the hottest songs this summer! Not only that, but Rauw also sang his solo hit “Algo Mágico,” which he couldn’t do without showing off his dance moves, all while stealing our hearts.

After Premios Juventud wrapped last night, Camilo took to Instagram to share a few photos of him on stage during his individual performance along with the message:

“Hace exactamente un año estaba cantando en una tarima pequeñita en el pre show de estos mismos premios!! Esta noche LA TRIBU tuvo la oportunidad preciosa de estar montado en esta tarima gigante en 3 oportunidades!! Dios es quien administra los tiempos!! Gracias por todo el amor que me han hecho sentir esta noche!!! LOS AMO!!!”

And let’s not forget that Camilo had a montage of his wife, Evaluna Montaner en pantalla during his first time performing “Favorito!”

Karol G absolutely killed it singing “Ay Dios Mío” live on television for the first time and looked stunning while doing it! Let’s not forget that this Colombian Queen just recovered from covid-19 and she didn’t show up to the awards solo, she was accompanied by her bae, Anuel who also performed.

Anuel definitely delivered en tarima with a medley of three of his latest hits, “Narcos,” “Hasta Que Dios Diga,” y “Reggaetonera.” Fans who eagerly watched from the comfort of their own homes had nothing but positive things to say about the performance and were so excited to finally hear Anuel perform some songs from his new album “Emmanuel.”

Jay Wheeler who’s been making his mark en el género urbano left us wanting more after performing one of his biggest hits, “La Curiosidad” LIVE during the Premios Juventud pre-show. You can watch it here!

With such an incredible lineup, you know the historical show had to be closed out with a bang! That’s where KYEN?ES? came into the picture to shut it down with an amazing tribute to la reina, Celia Cruz, singing “La Vida es un Carnaval” as well as “La Negra Tiene Tumbao!”
